Postdoctoral Scholar - Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine (Manicone Lab)
The Manicone Lab in the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine, Department of Medicine within the Center for Lung Biology at the University of Washington is seeking a postdoctoral scholar to perform research related to lung injury and resolution. The successful candidate will use cell-based and mouse cells/tissue to study macrophage signaling pathways that promote lung injury resolution. The studies will include using cell culture and organoid models to provide mechanistic insight of murine models of lung injury. We seek candidates with experience in murine tissue collection, cell culture, cloning, transduction, western blots, immunoprecipitation, flow cytometry, and organoid models.
This will be a full-time position on an annual service period of 12 months (July 1–June 30). The anticipated start date is November 1, 2025 or later.
The base salary for this position will be $5,705 per month ($68,460 per year), or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.
Requirements:
- A Ph.D. in Immunology, Molecular Biology, Cellular Biology, or related discipline.
- Experience in cell culture, cloning, molecular biology techniques, stable cell line generation, RT-PCR, flow cytometry with intracellular staining, cell sorting, mouse tissue collection/processing (blood, lung, and bone marrow).
- Evidence of scientific rigor and excellence as documented by peer-reviewed publications.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborations.
- Strong team player with excellent communication skills and fluency in English, both spoken and written.
