OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE PRINCIPAL
The primary role of the Principal is to uphold, nurture, and advance the mission of The Presbyterian College under the oversight of the Board of Governors.
The College
- providing administrative and executive oversight for academic programs and other work of the college
- participating in the Governance of the College as a member of the Board of Governors
- implementing the current Strategic Plan under the oversight of the Board of Governors, with a commitment to review it in 2028
- student recruitment and marketing
- fundraising and development
- public relations
The Educational Consortium
The Principal of the College shares in a team‐based leadership within the consortium of The Montreal School of Theology and the School of Religious Studies (McGill University).
The Broader Church
The Principal of Presbyterian College shall have a high visibility within the broader church, especially The Presbyterian Church in Canada.
QUALIFICATIONS OF THE PRINCIPAL
The Board is seeking a Principal who is a proven credible church leader and who: is actively engaged in personal spiritual disciplines and discipleship, has a doctoral degree in theology (PhD, ThD, D.Min) or related discipline, shares a theological perspective that fits within the wider Reformed and Presbyterian tradition and history of the college, has the capacity to work within a team context at the College, has oral French sufficient for professional/spiritual communication or willingness to achieve this, is able to maintain focus on high‐level organizational issues while ensuring that day‐to‐day operations are well managed, is able to work collaboratively with partner organizations, and is prepared and capable of assuming a leadership role with respect to the financial management and resource development needs of the College.

Teaching, Mentoring, and Research 30%
Administration 40%
REMUNERATION
Remuneration shall be in keeping with guidelines established by the General Assembly of The Presbyterian Church in Canada and as these are implemented by the Board of Governors of The Presbyterian College.
