Private Music Instructor/Assistant Lecturer, Guitar
The Department of Music at Skidmore College invites applications for a part-time, non-tenure track Private Music Instructor/Assistant Lecturer position in Guitar beginning September 2025. This is an academic year appointment.
Responsibilities:
- Teach one course per semester in Guitar
- Provide individual private guitar lessons
- Contribute to departmental initiatives, etc.
Qualifications:
- A background in classical guitar performance and pedagogy
- Teaching experience, preferably in both private and classroom settings
- Ability to work with a diverse student body within a liberal arts context
Salary Range: $1,003 - $1,379 per student for a semester of private instruction; $5,014 for Class Study
All bargaining unit members shall be covered by a collective bargaining agreement between Skidmore College and Services Employees International Union (SEIU), Local 200 United.
This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of the Form I-9 and verification of identity and work authorization as required by federal law.
