Procurement Analyst, Purchasing and Contract Services
Position Summary
The Purchasing and Contract Services department at the University at Buffalo (UB) seeks a Procurement Analyst to provide analytical and technical support to the Strategic Buying team, with a primary focus on scientific equipment, supplies, and related services.
Responsibilities
- Support the execution and ongoing management of strategic buying initiatives through data gathering and analysis, documentation support, and tracking of contracts, pricing, and supplier information.
- Monitor purchasing activity within the Jaggaer ShopBlue e-procurement system to identify data discrepancies, compliance issues, and transactional anomalies.
- Administer and maintain supplier catalogs within Jaggaer ShopBlue.
- Utilize Jaggaer ShopBlue to review and process requisitions and purchase transactions.
- Support contract administration activities.
- Prepare reports, analyses, summaries, and professional communications using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Serve as an internal resource for inquiries related to purchasing activity, contract usage, supplier performance, and transactional status.
- Research and identify potential suppliers and support internal processes related to supplier engagement and onboarding.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education with 1 year of experience
- Experience with Microsoft Office products
- Basic knowledge of e-Procurement systems
- Strong written and oral communications
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience using Jaggaer software
- Three (3) or more years’ experience working in public procurement
