Production and Maintenance Coordinator

- Remuneration: $135,483 to $153,562 pa (HEW8) (inclusive of $114,485 to $129,761 salary pa, 17% superannuation and 17.5% recreation leave loading)
- Location: Mackay Pilot Plant located on the Racecourse Sugar Mill

Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a Production and Maintenance Coordinator to join Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President (Academic), Academic Division.
The Production and Maintenance Coordinator provide leadership in operational planning at the Mackay Pilot Plant to aid the delivery of biorefining and biomanufacturing projects. This includes, working closely with the Manager Pilot Plant Operations, Pilot Plant Staff, users and suppliers to coordinate equipment installation, commissioning, training, plant configuration, experimental and production operations and maintenance.

What you need to succeed
- Education, training and/or experience equivalent to postgraduate qualifications (or progress towards postgraduate qualifications) with relevant experience in coordination of biorefining and bioprocessing projects in particular in relation to equipment operation and maintenance activities.
- Demonstrated experience in the maintenance, installation and process flow optimisation of bioprocessing and biorefining engineering equipment.
- Knowledge and experience of the maintenance and operational requirements of an OGTR-certified PC2 facility, including regulatory compliance to safety, biosafety, quality and food safety.
- Evidence of innovative approaches to problem solving and contribution to continuous improvement in systems and operational processes through future-focused thinking.
- Demonstrated high level interpersonal and communication skills in support of brokering connectivity and collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge of, or ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of policies and procedures (including safety, environment, quality, intellectual property) associated with the operation of research equipment for projects in a university context.
- Experience working collaboratively within a high performance team operating in a technical environment.
