Skills/Qualifications
Candidates entering the competition are required to possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Hold a professional medical qualification with the right to practise medicine in the Republic of Poland;
- Hold the academic title of habilitated doctor or professor;
- Hold a specialisation in gastroenterology or be undertaking specialist training in this field;
- Demonstrate, over the last 2 years (2024, 2025) prior to submitting an application for employment as a professor at the Institute, have produced academic output that would qualify for a positive assessment in the periodic evaluation of the academic output of a professor at the Institute, conducted in accordance with the Institute’s Regulations on the periodic evaluation of the academic and research-and-technical output of academic and research-and-technical staff;
- To have, as part of their academic output, at least 4 academic publications in peer-reviewed academic journals included on the Ministry of Science and Higher Education’s list of academic journals, in which the candidate is the first author, co-first author, last (senior) author, joint last or corresponding author, published within the last 4 years prior to submitting the application for appointment as a professor at the Institute;
- Possession of a total body of scientific work, published in journals with a combined Impact Factor (IF) of at least 35 points according to Web of Science for the year of publication, including at least 4 papers worth 100 points as assessed by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education;
- Possession of confirmation of employment or completion of an internship or internships at another research institution or other research institutions, the total duration of which exceeds 3 months;
- Having served as the principal investigator of a research project or research task within an externally funded research project, selected through a competitive call for proposals;
- For applicants whose native language is not Polish, a certificate confirming proficiency in Polish at B1 level is required.
Specific Requirements
Candidates entering the competition should submit the following documents:
- a declaration of application for the post covered by the competition, together with the following statement: ‘I consent to the processing of my personal data contained in the documents I have submitted by the Maria Sklodowska-Curie National Research Institute of Oncology, Gliwice Branch to the extent necessary for the competition procedure, in accordance with the Act of 10 May 2018 on the protection of personal data (Journal of Laws of 2019, item 1781)”;
- a declaration to sign the following statements: “I, the undersigned, declare that on the date of signing the employment contract or an annex to the employment contract – for employment in a research post – I shall sign the following statements: ‘Declaration of consent to be classified as a member of staff engaged in scientific activity’ and ‘Declaration on field and discipline’ (field: medical and health sciences, discipline: medical sciences);
- documents confirming professional qualifications and the requirements specified in paragraph 1 of the competition notice;
- a personal statement or curriculum vitae;
- a list of academic publications, broken down into original papers, review articles, chapters in textbooks, participation in research grants/projects, and a description of other achievements (in research, teaching and organisational activities).
