The Political Science and Law, Justice, & Society programs at Dickinson College invite applications for a full-time, open-rank professorship in American Public Law. Successful applicants will have research and teaching interests in public law, law and society, and/or the United States court system. The successful candidate will direct Dickinson’s Law, Justice, & Society program. This position carries a five-course (annual) teaching load, which includes capacity an introductory level course in either American government or political philosophy, with a one-course release in both of the first two years at Dickinson, to prioritize program management. The department expects the successful candidate to conduct high-quality research while maintaining high standards of teaching excellence. Ph.D. must be in hand by September 2026; strong preference will be given to advanced assistant professors or mid-career tenured faculty, and those with demonstrated ability to provide vision for and management of the Law, Justice & Society major.

It is located 20 minutes west of Harrisburg and is a two-hour drive from Baltimore, Washington, D.C., and Philadelphia.
