Position Overview
Sarah Lawrence College seeks a part-time Program Administrator to join the Joan H. Marks Graduate Program in Human Genetics. The program is the nation's oldest and largest training program in genetic counseling and has trained more genetic counselors than any other program in the world. The program continues to evolve and innovate the training and education of genetic counselors.
The Program Administrator will be a key member of the program who will provide crucial administrative support. They will work with and support the program's staff, faculty, and students. This position will routinely handle confidential, timely, and sensitive information with the utmost discretion.
The Program Administrator is a part time (18 hours/week) position. Workdays and hours are flexible and can be arranged based on the applicant's preferences and the manager's needs within regular business hours.
Essential Duties Summary
Key responsibilities include:
- Handling phone and email inquiries
- Disseminating large-scale communications to the appropriate parties
- Managing the program calendar
- Meeting and event management
- Interacting with various college offices and processes
- Budget management and financial record keeping
- Handling student registration
- General office management
- Other tasks as assigned
Required Qualifications
Minimum qualifications include:
- A bachelor's degree or higher
- Two years of experience providing administrative support; experience providing administrative support in a college setting preferred
- Excellent organizational, multitasking and problem-solving skills
- Experience with financial processes and expense tracking preferred
