Description of Job

This Program Assistant-I (PA-I) position provides academic program and outreach support for EDS in pursuit of its contributions to the mission of the Colorado School of Mines. EDS programs include: the Design Engineering BS program, the Humanitarian Engineering undergraduate minor, the Cornerstone Design program as part of Mines' core curriculum serving all Mines undergraduate students, and the inter-departmental undergraduate Capstone Design and graduate Humanitarian Engineering and Science programs. EDS supports campus-wide innovation in engineering education and hands-on project work to achieve practical and direct social and community benefit.

Reporting to the Department Head of EDS, the PA-I will support program operations across diverse undergraduate and graduate, departmental and interdepartmental, research and donor-supported programs and projects. This position is primarily responsible for supporting EDS department and program leadership in administering EDS's academic programs, including enrollment and assessment data tracking, archiving, and reporting; website and social-media account updates; tracking and reporting on funded project deliverables; and coordinating student workers in supporting these tasks. The position also supports leadership with 1) managing finances and financial reporting and 2) outreach and stakeholder engagement efforts. Together, these responsibilities help ensure EDS programming and projects address the needs of Mines' diverse communities.

The position requires interpreting budget materials, guidelines, and processes to exercise discretion in budget decision-making; and performing other comparable tasks which require applying knowledge of and/or interpreting principles, practices, rules, regulations, policies, and other guidelines specific to the variety of our programs and relevant professional subject areas.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience Only:
Four (4) years of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position, including work in communications, managing and organizing information, must be able to manage competing priorities, have familiarity with marketing and outreach. (Experience must be clearly documented in the work history section of your application. "See Resume" will not be accepted. Part time work will be pro-rated).

OR

Education and Experience:
A combination of related education and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal to four (4) years. (TRANSCRIPTS MUST BE ATTACHED FOR EDUCATIONAL CREDIT)
