St. Catherine University invites applications for a full-time Program Coordinator and Academic Support Specialist position within the Office of Academic Success. The Program Coordinator and Academic Support Specialist position will positively impact student success and retention through program implementation and student academic support. Reporting to the Strategic Director for Retention and Student Success, this position will work collaboratively across areas/departments on campus to facilitate programming for academically at-risk students in the College for Women, including coordination of first-year experience programming and one-on-one success coaching for LEAP students.

Responsibilities Include:

Academic Success Coaching

  • Provide academic success coaching for first-year students who have been identified as academically at risk (i.e., Learning Enrichment and Advising Program).
  • Registration support for students who are academically at risk.
  • Provide support for students on academic warning or probation through coaching meetings and study skills development.
  • Develop, coordinate, and facilitate workshops and online resources related to academic skills development.

Coordination of Retention Programming

  • Coordinate and enhance registration events with programming on academic readiness, collaborating closely with Admissions, Academic Advising, and Student Affairs.
  • Coordinate academic affairs representation at new student orientation for all colleges.
  • With the Strategic Director and AVP for Learning Resources and Academic Success, implement and expand summer bridge programming, including but not limited to Katies Embark.
  • Coordinate TRW Lab logistics including recruitment of facilitators, training of teaching assistants, supervision of Teaching Assistances (TA), and development of course materials.
  • Assist in development of College for Adults retention programming

Support for Additional Retention Initiatives

  • Provide unregistered student support including meetings to discuss holds and how to move forward
  • Implement outreach campaigns for unregistered students
  • Meet with students inquiring about leave of absence and voluntary withdrawals, complete process and communicate with students on leaves during registration cycle.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least 2 years of experience supporting students in a higher education setting (e.g., tutoring, advising, admissions)
  • Demonstrated experience working with academically at-risk or first-year student populations, including students on academic warning or probation.
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills, with experience managing multiple initiatives, deadlines, and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across departments and communicate with diverse campus partners.
  • Commitment to inclusive, student-centered practices and experience supporting students from diverse backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in higher education, student affairs, counseling, education, or a related field.
  • Experience teaching or co-teaching first-year seminars, transition courses, or academic skills labs (e.g., TRW Lab, study strategies, time management, college success courses).
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating or implementing retention initiatives, such as summer bridge programs, orientation programming, registration readiness events, or early alert interventions.

Compensation: The salary range is $42,473.60 - $59,467.00 depending on qualifications and experience.

The salary range listed reflects a good-faith estimate of what we reasonably anticipate to pay for this position, based on market data and internal equity, at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on qualifications, experience, skills, and other relevant factors. St. Catherine reserves the right to modify or adjust compensation depending on University needs.
