The UNSW Division of Societal Impact, Equity and Engagement (DSIEE) leads the University’s efforts to create meaningful and lasting social impact, promote equity and social justice, and deliver engagement activities that enhance UNSW’s reputation as a contributor to society through research, teaching, and community involvement.

We are seeking a Program and Events Administrator to provide administrative and event support for both online and on-campus activities within Student Equity’s annual program of work. This includes pre-tertiary educational outreach initiatives for students in Years 9–12, as well as training and development programs for current UNSW staff and students.

The role also supports the Engagement and Students as Partners teams to ensure program outcomes are achieved through the delivery of on-campus events, incursions, residential programs, new initiatives, and administrative support for team meetings and related activities.

The Program and Events Administrator reports to the Program and Events Producer, may occasionally supervise casual staff, and does not have any direct reports.

Specific accountabilities include:

  • Assist in the planning and delivery of a multifaceted events suite, including on-campus, in-school and online events.
  • Maintain and track merchandise, perishables and event equipment, and assist with purchasing to ensure items are prepared for use at events.
  • Support event planning by monitoring expenditure, updating budget spreadsheets and liaising with suppliers to ensure cost accuracy.
  • Assist in the development of project templates and event documentation capturing key details, including but not limited to room bookings, catering, and event equipment.
  • Provide support in setting up online webinars e.g. zoom, including creating links, managing panellist invites and administering polls.

About You:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience in events (both online and in-person), program administration and scheduling.
  • Advanced organisational skills with the proven ability to deal with multiple tasks, establish priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to develop positive relationships and liaise effectively with staff and external stakeholders such as students, parents and teachers.
  • Ability to successfully plan, assist in delivery of events and meet program milestones to a high professional standard.
  • Advanced level of computer literacy with well-developed skills in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Full and unencumbered driver’s license, and the ability to work at locations across Sydney and NSW and to work outside of normal working hours.
