Programme Delivery Manager: Risk, Information Governance and Compliance

About the role

We are looking for a Programme Delivery Manager to help shape and drive how risk, information governance and compliance are managed across the Mathematical, Physical and Life Sciences (MPLS) Division at Oxford.

MPLS is a large, complex and world-leading academic division, spanning nine departments, thousands of staff and students, and a huge range of teaching and research activity. With that comes complexity — and this role is all about helping us navigate it in a smart, practical and collaborative way, without adding unnecessary burden to already busy teams.

You will sit within our Strategic Planning and Projects team, working closely with senior leaders across the Division and the wider University. This is a role where relationships really matter. You will spend time working with departments to understand their challenges, spotting opportunities to do things better, and helping put practical solutions in place. You will also be communicating regularly with senior stakeholders — turning complex information into clear, useful insights and updates. There is also a strong element of change — helping MPLS to deliver strategic priorities and respond to wider University initiatives and evolving sector expectations.

It is a varied, hands-on role with real scope to make an impact and shape how things are done.

About you

You are someone who is comfortable operating in a complex environment and enjoys making sense of moving parts. You do not just spot problems — you think about how to solve them in a practical, collaborative way.

You will bring strong experience in programme or project delivery, ideally in a large organisation, and you are confident managing multiple priorities at once. You know how to create structure, keep things moving, and bring others with you — even when there is no clear roadmap at the outset.

You are also a great communicator. Whether you are running a workshop, briefing senior leaders or working one-to-one with colleagues, you can explain complex ideas clearly and build trust quickly. You are comfortable influencing, negotiating and finding common ground between different perspectives.

Experience in areas like risk management, information governance, compliance or assurance will be really helpful — but just as important is your willingness to learn and develop across these areas.
