Project Officer (Intranet User Experience and Content)

  • Term: Fixed-term, full-time basis until 31 December 2025
  • Remuneration: $120,443 to $131,749 pa (HEW7) (inclusive of $101,775 to $111,330 salary pa, 17% superannuation and 17.5% recreation leave loading)
  • Location: Gardens Point

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a Project Officer (Intranet User Experience and Content) to join Communications and Government Relations, Engagement, Chancellery Division.

This position presents an opportunity to contribute to intranet enhancements aimed at improving the usability, structure, and overall effectiveness of QUT’s intranet, supporting both the student experience and the delivery of essential staff services. Collaboration would extend to Intranet Content Advisers, fellow Internal Communications team members, and a broad range of university stakeholders — including Internal Communications, Student Services and Wellbeing, Digital Business Solutions, and other content owners and authors as needed The Project Officer will contribute to short-term sprints of work, including user research, consultation and co-design to inform changes to navigation, homepage layout, and information architecture. The position could also provide the opportunity to contribute to ongoing content development, engage with the university’s distributed network of trained intranet content authors (the authoring community), and support governance improvements to ensure key information is accessible and easy to find.

What you need to succeed

  1. Completion or progress towards a relevant degree, with subsequent work experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training. 
  2. Demonstrated experience supporting digital or content-related projects, including coordination of tasks, documentation, and stakeholder engagement.
  3. Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work independently to meet tight deadlines. 
  4. Demonstrated ability to write for the web, including knowledge of web standards, accessibility and usability. 
  5. Strong digital literacy skills and experience using web, publishing, graphic design or web analytics software. 
  6. Demonstrated abilities working within a team and liaising with stakeholders to form productive relationships and achieve results.
