Position Highlights
The Strategic Alternative Learning Techniques (SALT) Center is a nationally recognized program that provides a wide range of support to more than 650 undergraduates with learning and attention differences at the University of Arizona. This position will be operated under the Assessment for Behavior and Learning Excellence (ABLE) Clinic. ABLE provides formal assessments to both the UA Community and the broader Southern Arizona Community. The clinic is committed to providing individualized, "whole person" assessments that build self- advocacy in our clients through:
- Increasing their knowledge of strengths and weaknesses and diagnoses
- A specific understanding of what is needed to align with the individual's goals
- An actionable and understandable recommendation plan for next steps for connecting with support and resources
We offer this role with a flexible, ranged FTE (.75-1.00) and weekly hours, providing applicants the option to choose a workload that best fits their circumstances. The exact FTE/weekly schedule will be agreed upon during the hiring process.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Providing direct billable services that provide psychological, psycho-educational, and neurodevelopmental evaluations for clients who are referred to the assessment clinic. Performing all aspects of psychological, psychoeducational, neurodevelopmental, behavioral, and other types of assessments for children and young adults. This includes clinical interviewing, assessment, interpretation, and providing understandable and actionable feedback.
- Develop appropriate individual and family recommendations for clients and coordinate with relevant community resources.
- Supervise graduate student trainees (externs and interns).
- Conduct occasional psychotherapy intervention, risk assessments, and other duties as assigned for students enrolled in the SALT Center and/or other UA students. Limited city travel within the Tucson area, as needed.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Nuanced understanding of current trends in autism and neurodivergent assessment practices.
- Strong knowledge of the best practices in assessments and diagnostic criteria for the most referred assessments for children, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Learning Disorders and other psychological and neurodevelopmental diagnoses.
- Ability to communicate efficiently with management, leadership and other key stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications
- PhD or PsyD in Clinical or School Psychology required
- State of Arizona licensed.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous supervision experience.
- Experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults and their families.
- AZ School Psychology Certification or Nationally Certified School Psychologist credentials.
