Job Description
Anoka-Ramsey Community College, a large diverse two-year college in the northern Twin Cities metropolitan area, is accepting applications for one Unlimited Full Time Faculty in Psychology. We are seeking a creative and energetic professional who is dedicated to academic excellence and student success. The Psychology Department at Anoka-Ramsey is one of the largest at the college in terms of student enrollments, with classes offered on two campuses in multiple formats (seated, online, and hybrid). Successful candidate will need to be open to teaching a variety of introductory courses in these different formats but can expect to receive considerable support and mentoring from department and college colleagues. Our goal as an institution is to strive for inclusive excellence in preparing all students and employees for success.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Innovative teaching in core introductory courses (e.g., General Psychology, Lifespan Development, Abnormal Psychology, Social Psychology, Stress Management) in seated, online, or hybrid formats
- Active participation in department and college-wide initiatives to advance department and college goals and strategic objectives
- Commitment to inclusive teaching and academic excellence as an essential component of student success
- Continuous improvement as an educator through professional development in psychology content and instructional methods
This unlimited full-time position will be located at the Rapids Campus.
Salary Range:
Full-time faculty salaries are based on an evaluation of education and related experience after a job offer has been accepted and currently range from $51,303-$94,542. Full-time faculty work 171 days during a nine-month academic year and receive excellent benefits including health insurance, life insurance, dental insurance, short and long-term disability, paid personal and sick leave, retirement savings plans, tuition waiver for employees and dependents, professional development funds, along with many optional benefit programs.
**Please note, Initial Step placement is established by the MSCF contract in which sets salary limitations to what a new Faculty member is able to begin at. This will differ from the maximum salary range in this posting. For more information, please visit the collective bargaining agreement between Minnesota State College Faculty (MSCF) and the State of Minnesota. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
Minimum Qualifications
Education Requirement: Master’s degree with a major in Psychology or a Master’s degree with 18 graduate semester credits (27 graduate quarter credits) in psychology.
Preferred Qualification
- Graduate coursework in core discipline areas (e.g., research methods, statistics, biological psychology, learning, developmental psychology, personality, social psychology, abnormal psychology)
- Recent teaching experience in Psychology
- Experience teaching online using instructional management software (e.g., D2L)
- Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds to support their success
