- Lead the academic support team at the Melbourne Medical School’s Rural Clinical School, focusing on the Doctor of Medicine Rural Pathway, enhancing student management and administrative processes across multiple sites.

About the Role
The Senior Student and Programs Coordinator at the Melbourne Medical School is pivotal in leading a team focused on the academic support of the Doctor of Medicine (MD) program within the Rural Pathway at the Rural Clinical School sites in Ballarat, Echuca, Shepparton, and Wangaratta.
The role demands robust leadership skills to effectively guide and develop staff, ensuring high standards of academic administration and compliance are met consistently, while also engaging with a variety of stakeholders to support the effective management of students and the MD program.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead the Rural Clinical School team, managing day-to-day operations and academic administration, while providing staff development, feedback, and performance management.
- Oversee compliance, administrative activities, and resource management, liaise with industry partners for placements, and handle contracts and legal agreements.
- Facilitate continuous improvement, coordinate stakeholder relationships for student support, manage governmental data reporting, and undertake additional project coordination as needed.
Who We Are Looking For
You will possess a degree with substantial experience in student and course administration, demonstrating exceptional leadership in managing and motivating teams, coupled with strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
With a high level of proficiency in computing and standard software applications, you will adeptly handle data and navigate multiple systems, ensuring the smooth operation of complex administrative processes.
Your role requires flexibility, excellent time and task management skills, and the capacity to balance tough conversations with sensitivity.
Experience in the tertiary education sector is desirable, as is familiarity with student management systems and government reporting.
You will also have:
- A degree with substantial relevant experience; or extensive experience and management expertise in student and course administration; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- Demonstrated skills in leading and motivating a team.
- Highly developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills.

This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University.
