About the College/Unit/Department: The University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education & Hotel is hiring motivated, dependable, and team-orientated individuals for jobs that advance UGA’s mission of Public Service and Outreach. The Georgia Center, located on campus across from Stegeman Coliseum, is the campus hub for the development and administration of non-credit professional and continuing education courses as well as home of the only on-campus hotel.

Additional Schedule Information: 40.0 hours per week, Sunday – Saturday. Flexible schedule required to cover 6:30am – 3pm; 9am-5:30pm; 11am-7:30pm; 2pm-10:30pm. Must be able to work any day of the week, including weekends and holidays. The work schedule may change for football and special events. May be required to work when the University is closed. May be required to work overtime as business demands.
Advertised Salary: $16.587 per hour, commensurate with experience

Minimum Qualifications: Requires at least a high school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications: Hotel cleaning or custodial experience; Customer service/guest interaction experience
Position Summary: Clean and maintain good presentation of all the restrooms, lobbies, hallways and stairs of the Georgia Center plus other additional duties related to the cleaning of the offices. This work could involve unexpected duties such as custodial, linen services, and laundry tasks or public area duties in emergency situations or shortage of staff.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies: Knowledgeable with use of cleaning products. Know how to use vacuum cleaner. Good attention to detail and presentation. Strong work ethic and good values and principles are desirable.
Physical Demands: Pull, move, lift or roll at least 40 lbs., Work with the hands and reach above head. Bend at the waist, kneel, and crouch. Stand and walk for long periods of time.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Clean and maintain all the public restrooms according with the expectation of the visitors and guests. Works without supervision from a housekeeping supervisor and is considered a housekeeping lead. (30% of time)
- Vacuum all the lobbies, hallways, and entrances of the Center every day. Vacuum all the offices at least once a week. Works without supervision from a housekeeping supervisor and is considered a housekeeping lead. (25% of time)
- Daily: pick-up trash in each of the lobbies, hallways, and entrances as well as in all the offices of the Center. Works without supervision from a housekeeping supervisor and is considered a housekeeping lead. (25% of time)
- Dust all the window frames, doors, pictures, tables, etc., and clean all glass windows from the inside of the building. Works without supervision from a housekeeping supervisor and is considered a housekeeping lead. (20% of time)
