"Groundskeeper"

The purpose of this position is to perform general grounds maintenance involving the operation of motorized equipment and a variety of hand tools. This position is considered essential personnel and is expected to work during inclement weather and/or school closings.

The specific duties include:

• Maintain campus grounds and other college property including mowing, weed trimming, and edging. Operate riding mowers, tillers, blowers and other equipment as needed.
• Plant, water, mulch, trees and shrubs. Prune hedges and perform other maintenance of lawns and shrubs. Remove paper, debris, and other trash as necessary.
• Monitor activity on campus, identify problems and report or address as needed.

Note: Operation of equipment will require the ability to lift and place equipment and materials and may expose the employee to certain hazardous conditions. The employee must work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Minimum qualifications are:

• High school diploma
• Valid drivers' license
• At least one year experience working in commercial grounds maintenance or horticulture
• Able to operate lawn and other motorized equipment and appropriate hand tools
