General Summary

This position will serve as a part time instructor in the Continuing Education department at Odessa College in the Gregory D. Williams Hall. The QuickBooks Instructor will instruct students how to use the software for accounting purposes, including tasks such as setting up company files, entering transactions, reconciling accounts, and generating reports. Provide support and guidance to students as they learn how to navigate the software effectively. Successful completion will result in a certification for the student. Sessions will be 2 or 4 hour sessions until syllabus is completed.

Specific Position Duties

• Conduct in person QuickBooks training sessions, as needed to meet demands.
• Flexible schedule and hours.
• Instruct and assist students in understanding QuickBooks software.
• Provide support and guidance to students as they progress in their QuickBooks knowledge.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written; excellent interpersonal skills.

• Knowledge of other instructional technologies.
• Plan and organize lectures, utilize research and reference materials.
• Develop syllabi and other learning aids.
• Make continuous efforts to improve the quality of instruction by reviewing and utilizing appropriate methodologies, techniques, and delivery methods.
• Submit required rosters, reports and forms.
• Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues and the community.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Proof of proficiency in QuickBooks software

Preferred Qualifications

• QuickBooks Certification Preferred
• Collegiate teaching experience preferred but not required

Work Hours

This position is part-time with max of 19 hours per week. Classes/sessions are contingent on the minimum number of students enrolled. If minimum is not met, the class is subject to cancelation.
