Radiology Service Manager 1 - Radiology Admin - FT Day Shift
Position Summary: Reporting to the Asst. Director of Radiology, the Manager of Radiology Operations is responsible for the management of programs and operations in for the assigned imaging modalities. The Manager will be expected to manage the throughput on a daily basis, by actively managing the patient flow. The Manager provides leadership to the assigned modalities, strategizing processes and standards to ensure operations that support key organizational and departmental initiatives such as quality of care, continuous performance improvement, patient safety, patient satisfaction, and ensures an effective patient care delivery system. Serves as a role model for excellent service by training and reinforcing behaviors and standards among the staff that lead to positive interactions with patients and timely resolution of patient complaints. Promotes collegiality and teamwork by serving as a liaison between assigned units and other departments or disciplines across the Medical Center. Continuously collaborates with the various modalities within Radiology to ensure overall operations exceed expectations. Ensure efficient effective throughput on a daily basis. Identifies and sets unit performance goals and intervenes as necessary to ensure performance targets are met at optimum efficiency levels. The Manager will plan and manage unit budgets, and will implement strategies for improvement of resource utilization relative to patient acuity, workflow and overtime usage. The Manager is responsible for ensuring the staff on the unit are well-trained and motivated, and is accountable for recruitment and retention efforts, hiring, coaching, training, counseling, performance evaluations, competency assessments, work standards, discipline to include separations.
What It Takes to be Successful:
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year experience in an Imaging Management role/ 2 years in an Imaging supervisory role / or 5 years as an Imaging lead technologist role in an acute care setting
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a management/supervisory position in a hospital.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
- Ability to successfully identify priorities while managing multiple assignments simultaneously
- Knowledge of Title 22 and hospital JCAHO requirements
- Strong oral and written communication skills with an ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff and visitors
- Demonstrated experience with budgetary processes including establishing, maintaining, and reporting income, expenses, and variances
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and management experience
- Strong analytical skills to collect and analyze operational data
- Basic life support (BLS) certification
Preferred Qualifications:
- Unit Specific Certification
- MBA, MHA or MHSA or equivalent combination of education and management experience
- Lean Six Sigma Training
- Knowledge of UCI Medical Center policies and procedures

- BLS
