Computing, Analytics & Mathematics (CAM) is one of the four divisions in the School of Science and Engineering (SSE) established through UMKC Forward, a university initiative to create multidisciplinary learning, academics, research, and outreach. CAM offers undergraduate degrees in Computer Science (ABET-accredited), Information Technology (ABET-accredited), and Mathematics, MS degrees in AI, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, and Statistics, and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science, and Mathematics/Statistics. Job Description
The Division of Computing, Analytics & Mathematics is seeking applications for a 9-month, full-time, benefit-eligible, ranked non-tenure track faculty position at the Assistant, Associate, or full Teaching Professor level to teach Mathematics, starting in Fall 2026. The successful candidate will be expected to have a strong commitment to teaching undergraduate and graduate courses and participate in department, school, and/or university service activities. The anticipated workload is 4 courses per semester.
Qualifications
All candidates must have a Ph.D. in Mathematics or a closely related discipline prior to the start date.
Applicants for the Associate or full Teaching Professor position should have the qualifications of Assistant Professor, as well as a strong portfolio of Math courses successfully developed and delivered at the undergraduate and graduate levels, strong student evaluations from teaching, and evidence of mentorship of graduate students.
Anticipated Hiring Range
Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications, experience, and profile of qualifications to teach multidisciplinary and advanced courses. This 9-month, benefit-eligible, full-time (1.0) faculty appointment is eligible for ranked promotion.
