"REGISTERED NURSE- D. Dan and Betty Kahn Health Care Pavilion-Operating Room"

The D. Dan and Betty Kahn Health Care Pavilion is a 12-story hospital that will house 264 private rooms capable of converting to intensive care; a state-of-the-art neurosciences center; and high-level, specialty care services for cardiovascular and thoracic patients, along with advanced imaging. The 690,000-square-foot hospital which also features 20 surgical and three interventional radiology suites is being constructed adjacent to the Frankel Cardiovascular Center, with plans for bridge and tunnel connections to existing inpatient care facilities.

The D. Dan and Betty Kahn Health Care Pavilion at U-M Health Operating Room Unit will feature 20 operating suites with state-of-the-art equipment and instrumentation supporting the following specialties: neuro-anesthesiology, neurosurgery (including MR/OR), oral maxillofacial surgery, otolaryngology, spine, and general thoracic. 

Scrub and circulate in the Pavilion operating rooms assigned under the clinical supervision of a Charge Nurse, Clinical Supervisor or Clinical Nursing Director as appropriate. To rotate shift and accept call as assigned by Clinical Manager/Clinical Nursing Director. To assist in the teaching activities of the Operating Room.

Required Qualifications:
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Michigan. 
Two (2) years recent, within the last three (3) years, circulating and scrubbing experience as a RN. 
Ability to work with a non-responsive patient population. 
Call commitment with 30 minute response time. 

NOTE: All applicants selected to interview will complete a one day observation in the Pavilion OR (unpaid).

BSN

Salary & Nursing Framework Level:
This UMPNC RN posting is posted as Nursing Framework LEVEL C. 
Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire. 
Nursing Framework levels range from Level A to Level F. 

Required qualifications must be met by the candidate in order to be interviewed and considered for the position. Posting may be filled after the initial 5-day posting period. Positions less than 20 hours/week may be combined. 

Hours: 40 hours/week
Shift: Day/Evening rotation with call and weekend/holiday obligations.

All new employees will be expected to float to a designated unit(s) in times of low census.

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Michigan Nurses Association and the U-M Professional Nurse Council union, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
