About the role
Regulatory compliance management plays an essential role in supporting academic and professional services teams to achieve excellence. As a world-leading university with a multiplicity of institutional partnerships, Imperial has established a robust framework to ensure that those relationships are rigorously assessed and are appropriate for Imperial; this post is particularly focused upon supporting this important work, ensuring that legal, financial and reputational risks are identified and managed, thereby supporting Imperial’s governance and risk management processes and safeguarding Imperial’s reputation.
What you would be doing
As our Regulatory Compliance Manager, you will hold responsibility for the production, management and oversight of high quality due diligence reports by authorised users of Imperial’s bespoke Due Diligence Portal; actively manage the Due Diligence Portal functionality to ensure the users are well-supported by the technological tools we have established; provide advice to the network of Due Diligence Co-ordinators in the Faculties and PS Divisions; identify any need for and create appropriate guidance for users of the Portal; coordinate and manage the provision of appropriate training on the production of due diligence reports, including use of Open Source materials; lead the periodic review of Imperial’s Relationships Policy; and support the Relationships Review Committee as required.
What we are looking for
- Significant demonstrable experience of delivering effective high quality due diligence reports at pace;
- Demonstrable experience of leading and managing a diverse portfolio of tasks, including managing conflicting priorities;
- Demonstrable experience of proactively and effectively engaging with a range of stakeholders in a professional and diplomatic manner to facilitate successful outcomes;
- Demonstrable experience of leading and fostering engagement across a complex organisation to support its effective governance;
- Experience of analysing data to inform management decisions;
- Evidence of training undertaken in the use of Open Source intelligence reporting, including how to identify and grade sources;
- A sound understanding of legal and regulatory requirements relating to Export Controls, sanctions and the National Security & Investment Act;
- A sound understanding of governance processes and procedures in a complex organisation;
- Ability to facilitate and lead the implementation of strategy in a regulatory context;
- Clear ability to analyse and evaluate data to identify risks to make well-considered, pragmatic decisions that demonstrate reliable judgement;
- Resilient and well organised with the ability to maintain effective performance in challenging circumstances, encouraging others to do the same;
- Self-directed – able to work with minimum supervision and manage a number of tasks in parallel.
