Relocation Coordinator

Relocation Coordinator

The University of Cambridge is one of the largest and most prestigious universities in the UK, employing more than 14,000 staff in a wide range of academic, research and professional services roles. In an increasingly competitive resourcing landscape, we are committed to enhancing the University's reputation as a prominent employer of choice, maintaining our ability to attract, develop and retain the highest calibre of talent from across the world.

As part of the Talent Attraction theme of the University's People Strategy (2024 - 2027), we are creating a new Relocation Service, which will provide expert and dedicated relocation advice and support to new employees of the University. As a result, we now have a unique opportunity for an experienced coordinator to join the team as a Relocation Coordinator to lead the day-to-day operations of the new service.

The Role:

As Relocation Coordinator, you will utilise your extensive coordination experience to lead the day-to-day delivery of the relocation service, acting as the first point of contact for enquiries from new and prospective employees. You will play a key role in supporting the review, development and relaunch of our relocation guidance and website, which will provide new employees and Departments with relevant information about relocating to the UK, and the support available. We will look to you to:

  • Manage the University's Reimbursement of Relocation Expenses Scheme.
  • Develop effective working relationships with colleagues across the University, to promote the service and ensure it is operating effectively.
  • Provide accurate guidance to staff and candidates on relevant HR issues, specifically, relocation, staff benefits, recruitment, compliance, induction and terms and conditions. This will involve visiting Eddington Site to respond to queries from new staff, specifically researchers.
  • Gather, analyse and present data, compile reports, set up databases as required, prepare/draft presentations, prepare briefing notes and correspondence.

About You:

You will join us with:

  • Experience in a coordination role, managing multiple processes simultaneously. Previous experience in a Relocation Coordinator or similar role (e.g. HR Coordinator or Housing Adviser) would be a distinct advantage.
  • Experience of providing advice on relevant processes and legislation relating to recruitment and relocation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to successfully present information through a variety of communication methods and tools.
  • Experience of collecting, collating and presenting basic information and data.
  • Ability to plan and coordinate workload delivery over the short to medium term, contributing to wider project work as required.

This exciting role would suit candidates who have experience leading the delivery of processes relating to relocation or would like to broaden their knowledge and experience of recruitment and relocation into service delivery at an organisational level. If you feel you are the ideal candidate for the role, we want to hear from you.

Elements of this role are suitable for hybrid working, where staff can split their time between in-person collaboration and remote working. Additional information can be found in the Further Information document.
