The Department of Psychology in the Dodge Family College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Oklahoma invites applications for a full-time benefits-eligible Lecturer position for a five-year renewable term, non-tenure track. The workload is eight courses per year (four per semester). Ideal candidates will be able to teach a variety of core undergraduate courses such as introductory psychology, statistics, research methods, lifespan development, cognitive psychology, and social psychology. Strong teaching evaluations are a must, and experience with large sections is desired.

The position begins on August 17, 2026. Eligibility for annual reappointment is contingent upon satisfactory teaching performance evaluations. Renewal of the five-year term is contingent upon department needs and future funding approval. The University provides a pathway to promotion to Senior Lecturer and Distinguished Lecturer for renewable-term faculty.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must have a Ph.D. in Psychology or a closely-related discipline by the time of appointment. Candidates must have evidence of university teaching effectiveness in psychology courses. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience teaching large sections (100+ students).
