Research & Compliance Coordinator

The Center for Research Excellence is seeking a Research and Compliance Coordinator to facilitate Institutional Review Board (IRB) research compliance, proactive grant development, and research training. The Coordinator serves as a key liaison between the Center, faculty, and internal/external stakeholders to streamline the research lifecycle, from initial IRB protocol review to strategic grant scouting and interdisciplinary collaboration. The ideal candidate has exceptional organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to interpret complex guidelines and perform independent research. The earliest start date for this position is July 1, 2026.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support IRB compliance by serving as the first point of contact for faculty and student inquiries and conducting initial review of research protocols
  • Track records for compliance training and monitor protocols and necessary approvals for research projects
  • Research policies and procedures to ensure alignment with regulations and best practices
  • Proactively identify grant funding opportunities and match to faculty expertise
  • Develop and coordinate training opportunities related to research compliance and grant seeking
  • Track data related to research and grants and coordinate opportunities to highlight research

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to perform independent research.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret complex guidelines.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with aptitude to learn new software and systems.

Preferred:

  • Previous involvement with research environments.
  • Experience with IRB protocols and federal research regulations.
  • Experience in university settings.
  • Ability to lead information and training sessions.
  • Experience working with sensitive and/or confidential information.
