Research Assistant/Associate/Fellow (Fixed term)

Applications are invited for the above role to support a project entitled “Assessing the effectiveness of multi-level states’ policy responses to Covid-19” at the University of Nottingham, funded by the Leverhulme Trust.

The post-holder will undertake a project studying the determinants of the public policies that central and regional governments deployed in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. The scope of the project covers the 13 OECD countries over an 18-month period (1st January 2020-30 June 2021).

The work will consist of: gathering and compiling data on central and regional government policies in the fields of public health and fiscal policy from existing data-sets; gathering and compiling data on the functional, institutional, party-political drivers of these policies; analysing and writing-up the results and preparing the draft for publication.

This role is available on a full time (36.25 hours), fixed-term contract from 1st October 2025-30th January 2026. Job share arrangements may be considered. Requests for secondment from internal candidates may be considered on the basis that prior agreement has been sought from both your current line manager and the manager of your substantive post, if you are already undertaking a secondment role.
