Research Assistant (Full-time, 4-month Fixed Contract)

Project Title:

Virtual Reality–Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Social Anxiety–Driven Depression among Youths: A Randomized Controlled Trial (UGC/FDS15/H14/24) 基於虛擬現實的認知行為治療對社交焦慮型抑鬱青少年的效果研究：一項隨機對照實驗

Job Responsibilities

• Support the implementation of a VR-based psychological intervention for youths with social anxiety and depression.

• Work closely with the project team and liaise with different stakeholders, including schools, NGOs, and research staff.

• Assist with participant recruitment, intervention delivery, data collection, and follow-up arrangements.

• Carry out other research and administrative tasks as assigned by the team leader.

Requirements

• Registered counseling psychologist or holder of a related professional qualification.

• Familiar with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

• Able to work independently and take initiative.

• Self-motivated, responsible, and able to work well in a team.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• Able to fully commit to the project from Monday to Friday; occasional work outside regular working hours may be required, depending on project needs.

• Fluent in Chinese and English (Cantonese, Mandarin, and English).

This role is quite intensive, but it offers an excellent opportunity to quickly accumulate around 300 hours of direct counseling practice. Applicants should have strong time management skills, be able to work well under pressure, and demonstrate a high degree of flexibility.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with children or adolescents.

• Interest in or familiarity with technology-assisted interventions, such as VR.

• Able to start work as soon as possible.

Appointment Details
