Research Assistant in Clinical Neuro-AI (Fixed Term)
A Research Assistant position in Clinical Neuro-AI is available to work with Prof Zoe Kourtzi (Adaptive Brain Lab, University of Cambridge) and Prof Eleni Vasilaki (University of Sheffield, School of Computer Science).
Are you passionate about translating AI tools to brain and mental health disorders? Join our cross-disciplinary team at the forefront of neuroscience and computational science.
The position focuses on developing and implementing AI models to synthesise diverse datasets including brain imaging, genetics, proteomics, cognitive data, and medical records, aiming to co-create practical tools deployable in real-world clinical settings.
This work is central to a multidisciplinary collaboration bringing together experts in machine learning, neuroscience, and clinical informatics, with healthcare innovation and industry partners. Our research on early prediction of dementia (https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-57934589) has the potential to deliver significant applications in clinical practice.
You will need to have a MRes with evidence of research excellence in a relevant discipline including: Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Data Science, Biostatistics, Neuroscience, Medicine.
You will receive multidisciplinary research training at the interface of machine learning, neuroscience, and clinical translation. You will be an integrated member of the BrainHealthX Hub that fosters cross-disciplinary collaborations across sectors and disciplines (academia, healthcare, industry) aiming to develop analytics tools for brain and mental health.
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 18 months in the first instance, with potential for a further extension of 18 months.
