About the role
We are looking for a research assistant to support the research in the Imperial BRC Organoid Facility. The position will allow you to characterise organoid lines in the Facility’s Biobank and to establish and deliver effective protocols and assays for analysing intestinal organoid lines acquired from patients with digestive diseases, including inflammatory bowel disease.
What you would be doing
You will contribute to sample preparation, cell isolation procedures, organoid culturing and other general lab duties. Your work will mainly focus on the morphological and biological characterisation of the Imperial Organoid Biobank. You will also assist with the writing of reports to research sponsors, with presenting findings to colleagues, and assisting with the publication of findings.
What we are looking for
Given the medical research focus and sample collection aspect of the post, we are looking for someone who has a medical degree as well as education and experience in cell biology or related fields, including regenerative medicine. Demonstrated experience in laboratory assays (Western blot, ELISA), intestinal sample collection and working with iPSC cell culturing is also essential.
