Research Assistant Professor Clinical Traumatic Brain Injury
The Department of Neurology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure research track. Expertise is required in the specific area of Traumatic Brain Injury, particularly as it applies to biomarkers, including long-term follow-up of humans and related future neurodegenerative disease. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree.
Research or scholarship responsibilities may include carrying out research projects in collaboration with the TBI center faculty as well as establishing their own independent research program aiming to accelerate TBI research. This individual will have experience with designing, implementing, and interpreting human clinical studies of TBI including magnetic resonance imaging, blood-based biomarkers, and clinical outcomes. Existing datasets can be utilized and novel data collection in the future is encouraged.
Opportunities may arise to be involved in mentoring in training undergraduates, graduate students, and residents as part of their TBI-related research. This individual may have roles in thesis committees of MS or PhD students at the Perelman School of Medicine.
