Highly motivated Research Assistant(s) are invited to join the Bioinformatic team. The candidate(s) will, in collective efforts, help identify novel biomarkers associated with the dysregulation of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's Disease, and contribute to disease pathogenesis.
Duties:
- Collect, manage, and analyze biological data (e.g., phenotypic, proteomic, transcriptomic, and/or genetic data), including the use of statistical methods and graphic tools to analyze and interpret data for meaningful results;
- Implement and/or optimize existing analytic pipelines;
- Generate figures and graphs to illustrate the data and deliver insights responsibly and in a timely manner;
- Provide support in manuscript preparation and presentations as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or above in biology / biomedical sciences or a related field;
- Knowledge of programming skills, especially with R;
- Knowledge of common bioinformatic database such as GTEx is preferred;
- Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively in English;
- Data management experience with relational database architecture would be a plus;
- Experience in proteomics, transcriptomics and molecular biology-related laboratory techniques would be an advantage;
- A creative mind with curiosity, and willing to learn new techniques and software as needed.
(Duration: 1 year, renewable)
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave and medical benefits will be provided.
