Research Associate - Developing Inclusive Dementia Post-diagnostic Support for Care Homes

We have an exciting opportunity for a Research Associate to make a leading contribution to Developing inclusive dementia post-diagnostic support for people living in care homes and their carers working with Academic Geriatric Medicine, within the School of Cardiovascular & Metabolic Health.

This two-year Chief Scientist Office funded mixed-methods research project involves four linked work packages to develop a dementia post-diagnostic support (PDS) intervention which addresses unmet needs for people living in care homes and their carers. It has been planned with key interest-holders and will be supported by a panel of people with lived experience and professionals representing local and national organisations with influence over PDS content and delivery.

The research involves evidence synthesis, qualitative interviews (involving people living with dementia, their family and professional caregivers and organisational representatives), case-studies of practice and co-design work to develop a PDS intervention and associated programme theory.

The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to the formulation and submission of accessible and academic outputs including research publications as well as supporting this complex yet rewarding project.
