The Department of Cell and Developmental Biology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for a Research Associate position in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years). Expertise is required in the specific area of mass spectrometry workflow including sample preparation, acquisition, and analysis, basic biochemistry, molecular biology, and cell culture techniques. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree.
Responsibilities may include investigation of the effects of aging and senescence on epigenome, proteome, and metabolome, with a focus on mass spectrometry as readout, complemented by biochemistry and cell biology approaches.
The successful applicant will have an opportunity to further develop critical thinking and technical skills on advanced mass spectrometry, contribute to project design, management, and leadership, prepare manuscript, apply for grants, present research findings in national and international meeting, mentor junior scientists, and participate in career trainings offered by the University.
Candidate should have a minimum of 3-5 years postdoctoral experience
