Job Summary
A full-time Research Associate position is available in the Ley Lab at the Immunology Center of Georgia at Augusta University. The successful candidate will join a team of scientists investigating inflammation and immunity. We have about 50 mouse strains that need to be bred, weaned, genotyped, and aged.
We seek a candidate who is diligent, motivated, and has an exceptional level of organization, record-keeping and time management skills.

Responsibilities
- Maintain mouse colony, including breeding and weaning. Interface with third party (Transnetyx) for mouse genotyping. Maintain mouse inventory. Harvest organs from mice.
- Acquire blood and tissue samples from mice.
- Maintain inventory and organization of lab equipment and supplies.
- Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Master's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology, or other natural, life, health care, or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned and experience in research, basic science, or clinical laboratory particularly clinical trial research.
OR
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology, or other natural, life, health care, or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned and a minimum of three years of research and/or clinical experience.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.
SKILLS
Detail-oriented.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
ABILITIES
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days; Monday - Friday (Work outside of normal business hours may be required).
Salary: $45,400-$46,443.40 annually.
Pay Band: B8
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position.
