Research Associate, Full Time
The Clinical Biophotonics Laboratory (CBL) at NYU Tandon School of Engineering is seeking to hire a full-time Research Associate to work in the area of wearable biophotonic devices for health monitoring.

The CBL team, under the leadership of Professor Andreas Hielscher, focuses on the development of a patient-centered approach that addresses all aspects of modern precision medicine in state-of-the-art healthcare.
Expectations
Candidates will be responsible for developing a novel optical imaging system for the assessment of vascular diseases, especially as it applies to stroke patients. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated background in medical instrumentation design and successful collaborations with clinics in a hospital setting. Previous experience on clinical appearance and physiological underpinnings of vascular diseases and stroke is highly desirable. In addition, experience in writing IRB protocols and scientific papers is beneficial.
Salary range
In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary for this position is $48,000, and the actual salary depends on the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
Expected start date and period of employment
Expected start date is September 1, 2025. This position is expected to be for 6 months.
Candidates should have at least a PhD in Biomedical Engineering or a related field. A background in biomedical optics is required. Candidates will be required to present eligibility to work in the United States.
