POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHER

New York University Tandon School of Engineering

The de Lázaro Lab (NanoBioEngineering for Tissue Reprogramming and Regeneration, https://www.delazarolab.com) at NYU Tandon School of Engineering is seeking to hire a Postdoctoral Researcher to join an exciting project focused on the development of nanomedicines to induce cellular reprogramming and rejuvenation.

New York University (NYU) is one of the top private universities in the United States, and the Tandon School of Engineering is deeply committed to excellence in teaching and learning. Tandon fosters student and faculty innovation and entrepreneurship that make a difference in the world.

Our laboratory is a diverse mix of biomedical engineers, biologists, and pharmacists, and it is part of the Department of Biomedical Engineering at NYU Tandon School of Engineering (https://engineering.nyu.edu/academics/departments/biomedical-engineering). We are also affiliated with the NanoBioX Initiative at NYU Tandon (https://nanobiox.nyu.edu) and the Cardiovascular Research Center at NYU Grossman School of Medicine and NYU Langone Health (https://med.nyu.edu/departments-institutes/medicine/divisions/cardiology/research/cardiovascular-research-center).

Expectations: Candidates will be responsible for the design, formulation, and in vitro and in vivo testing of nanoparticles able to deliver small drugs and biologicals (peptides, siRNAs, mRNAs) to various organs and tissues in mice. We are looking for candidates with a PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Pharmacy, Biomaterials Science, or a related field. Prior experience in nanoscience, formulation science, or nanomedicine is a must; prior experience in in vivo research in mice, including in vivo models of disease, is advantageous but not strictly required. The successful candidate will be self-motivated and driven, creative, team-oriented, and able to work efficiently in a multidisciplinary environment. They will be expected to collaborate very closely with basic scientists and clinical colleagues at the Cardiovascular Research Center and to contribute to the mentoring of junior researchers. They will also be expected to lead publications in high-impact factor journals and contribute to the development of grant proposals.

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary for this position is between $62,500.00 and $70,000.00, depending on the candidate’s experience and qualifications.

Candidates should have a PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Pharmacy, or a related field. We welcome applicants from recent PhDs, individuals seeking additional postdoctoral training, or individuals with industry experience. Eligible candidates will be required to present eligibility to work in the United States.

Applicants should submit a cover letter, a current CV and a list of three references with complete contact information. All application materials should be submitted electronically through Interfolio.

The preferred starting date is October 2025, but it can be negotiated. Review of applications will begin as soon as possible and will continue until the position is filled.
