We have an exciting opportunity for a Research Associate to make a leading contribution to a research project examining the impacts of climate change faced by disadvantaged urban communities in Brazil. You will work with Professor Ruth Dundas, and other colleagues both within University of Glasgow and other Universities and organisations in Brazil.
This project will use a combination of census, health and environment data to derive a new climate-health vulnerability index at the small area level for the whole of Brazil; and conduct intersectional analysis to understand the social and environmental determinants of vulnerabilities to climate-health impacts across population groups. This post is part of a larger mixed-methods project that uses participatory urban living labs in three Brazilian communities to inform city adaptation, implementation and monitoring.
The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to the formulation and submission of research publications and research proposals as well as help manage and direct this complex and challenging project as opportunities allow.
We welcome applications from candidates who hold a Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework level 12 (PhD) with at least 2 years’ post-doctoral experience in a similar or related role(s), or alternatively possess the equivalent in professional qualifications and experience.
This post is full time (35 hours per week) and has funding up to 31 October 2028 in the first instance.
