The Stanford Graduate School of Education (GSE) seeks a Research Coordinator (75% FTE) to serve as program coordinator for the TRANSFORM intervention and Research Collaborative, beginning July 2026.

Based in the Stanford Graduate School of Education (GSE), the Research Collaborative uses a strengths-focused and community-based lens to: (1) examine the process and benefits of racial literacy in the context of cultural and race-based stressors; (2) explore how these processes occur and can be improved within communities; and (3) translate research to inform and develop interventions and applied tools to promote racial literacy and mental health. One current project is the implementation and evaluation of TRANSFORM--a holistic and culturally responsive group-based intervention designed help adolescents resist and thrive in the face of cultural and race-based stressors.
POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Principal Investigator (PI), the Research Coordinator will serve as program coordinator for the TRANSFORM intervention and support the day-to-day operations of the Research Collaborative. Under the direction of the PI, the Research Coordinator will assist with maintaining community partnerships, support research design and data management, coordinate training and intervention implementation, and contribute to academic writing and dissemination activities.
CORE DUTIES
- Plan and perform research tasks requiring initiative and judgment by applying basic knowledge and understanding of scientific theory when precedents do not provide specific guidance. General instruction provided by the supervisor as needed. May interpret study results in collaboration with supervisor or PI.
- Participate in the development and administration of survey instruments and rating scales requiring judgment in applying non-routine procedures. Analyze and summarize results for review with the supervisor. Audit the accuracy and validity of data.
- Review and audit case report forms for completion and accuracy with source documents, and ensure compliance with research protocols.
- Identify, select, extract and summarize data and structured information. Present summary of findings to supervisor.
- Conduct literature searches, and write literature summaries and manuscripts, requiring preliminary judgments after the supervisor outlines conceptual approach.
- Build and organize data as requested by principal investigator or supervisor; use common statistical programs requiring the application of job control language in generating and organizing data.
- Adapt new, nonstandard methods outlined by the supervisor in designing and evaluating phases of research projects (i.e., educational materials, questionnaires, strategies for recruitment, data quality control procedures and processes). May follow up with the Institutional Review Board (IRB) to ensure renewals are approved and completed, seeking guidance where necessary.
- Assist with development, communication and design of research findings to internal and external audiences, which may include web updates, social media, and/or white papers, for use in recruitment, educational, or awareness of programs, with guidance from supervisor.
- Orient and train new staff and/or students.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Support and assist in maintaining community research partnerships for culturally responsive youth- and family-focused programming.
- Assist with coordination and implementation of TRANSFORM, a group-based youth intervention, including scheduling, data collection, and fidelity monitoring, under direction of the PI.
- Assist with day-to-day operations of the lab and community partnerships, as directed by the PI.
- Process study compensation payments and thank-you letters to participants, upholding confidentiality practices.
- Demonstrate a commitment to supporting an equitable and inclusive work climate.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor of Arts degree in an applicable social science related field, or combination of education and relevant experience in an applicable social science.
- General understanding of scientific theory and methods, typically gained through completion of an undergraduate degree in a related field.
- General computer skills and ability to quickly learn and master computer programs.
- Ability to work under deadlines with general guidance.
- Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to complete detailed work accurately and in a timely and efficient manner.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work with human study participants.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Two or more years of experience or education post-undergraduate degree in clinical or counseling psychology, developmental psychology, human development and family studies, educational psychology, or a related field.
- Experience in community implementation of mental health or wellness interventions.
- Strong quantitative data management and analysis skills; mixed methods preferred. Experience or training in one or more programming languages and/or statistical software: R, SPSS, Mplus, or SAS.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; grant writing and publishing experience preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS
May be required to work non-standard, extended or weekend hours in support of research work.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Frequently perform desk-based computer tasks, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
- Occasionally stand/walk, sit, use a telephone, write by hand, and sort/file paperwork or parts.
- Rarely twist/bend/stoop/squat, kneel/crawl, reach/work above shoulders, operate foot and/or hand controls.
The expected pay range for this position is $34.00-$40.41 per hour.
