About the role

The Humanities REF Officer is a pivotal role in the Humanities Division’s preparations for Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2029 and will work closely with the REF Project Manager to provide specialist administrative support for the Humanities Division’s REF submission, ensuring that relevant information is made available, collected and reported in a timely manner.

The postholder will be expected to organise their work in collaboration with the rest of the divisional REF team, to bring their knowledge and experience to support our administrative systems, and to play a full part in supporting all aspects of the Division’s submission to REF 2029.

About you

You will need to build strong relationships with academic and professional service staff across the faculties of the Division. You will be required to develop and maintain specialist knowledge and excellent understanding of REF processes and procedures and develop confidence to advise senior academic colleagues on the rules, as well as on the most appropriate and efficient way to execute REF-related tasks.

You will hold experience of working in administration, have a keen attention to detail as well as strong organisational and numerical skills, coupled with the ability to develop expertise using computerised systems such as Symplectic Elements.

You will also be able to demonstrate a commitment to working successfully in a team, as well as the ability to handle sensitive matters with tact and discretion.
