About the Role

An exclusive opportunity to join Flinders University’s Caring Futures Institute in the capacity of Research Fellow, where you undertake health services research with, and on behalf of the Professor of Allied Health and Active Ageing. Within this exciting Medical Research Future Funded position, you will have the opportunity to work across elements of project approvals, implementation, the management and analysis of data, and the preparation of manuscripts for publication. A snapshot of other responsibilities of the Research Fellow is listed below:

  • Independently contributing to the execution of research by preparing applications to obtain the relevant ethics, governance and data approvals, reviewing relevant literature and other sources of information, actively participating in the production of data, contributing to the writing and editing of reports and journal articles and attending relevant seminars and meetings.
  • Play a lead role in coordinating, planning and executing the project tasks required to collaborate with industry partners.
  • Independently contributing to ethical, high quality and innovative research and evaluation through activities such as scholarship, publishing in recognised high quality journals and developing plain language summaries for the public and policy briefings.
  • Assisting the preparation and submission of bids for external research funding.
  • Supervision of honours and post graduate research projects.

About You

You are an experienced researcher who holds a PhD in a health-related discipline and is passionate about making a meaningful contribution to the important topic of care and rehabilitation for older people. You naturally foster an inclusive team environment, evident through your experience successfully supervising and supporting staff in a research context, and your wide spreading, diverse network of stakeholders and industry partners. You will also be able to demonstrate:

  • Demonstrated research experience in terms of publications in high quality publications and presentations at a national and/or international level in health services research.
  • Demonstrated experience in qualitative and/or quantitative research methodology.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and execute data collection and analysis, and the ability to deliver projects on time.
  • Demonstrated ability to critically review the literature in relevant fields.
