Job Description
The selected individual will be responsible for leading and managing research activities related to the project titled “Optical Fiber Sensing of Coastal and Marine Structures.”
He/She will be required to investigate and understand the coupled interaction mechanisms between optical fiber sensors and marine and coastal structures, developing appropriate sensing and analysis methodologies, and supporting the experimental validation and interpretation of sensing data.
Job requirements
- Possess a PhD degree from relevant fields such as Civil Engineering, Ocean Engineering, Fluid Mechanics, Computer Science, or related disciplines. Applied Mathematics, Data Science, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Earth Sciences, Remote Sensing, and Artificial Intelligence are also well-suited. - Strong written and spoken communications.
- High proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB) and experience with data analysis tools.
- Responsibilities include supervising research assistants, ensuring compliance with safety and ethical standards, and contributing to the preparation of progress reports and grant documentation.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Open to fixed-term contract.
