Research IT Coordinator
Job Summary
This position consults with researchers across the University of Nebraska System to align appropriate ITS services and provide support to meet research needs.
Regular activities will involve working with small groups of researchers to determine and execute on their technology needs, either directly or through referral to other resources. This position will develop and present workshops to provide hands-on training to faculty and students on the use of Research IT services as well as tools and technologies that broadly interest the NU research community. Additionally, this position will assist with outreach and engagement activities to the research community to help researchers leverage Research IT services in their work in pre- and post- award scenarios. Projects will include the development of new shared services, the refinement and revision of existing services, promotion of shared services to the NU research community, and other activities focused on advancing the NU research community. Attention to detail and quality are critical as this position will be responsible for working with critical research and sensitive data.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
3 years experience working in an Information Technology role and/or Research Computing environment
Experience with information technology services and scientific software.
Experience providing instruction on the use of technology.
Knowledge of information technology architectures and experience developing workflows to leverage IT services.
Must have excellent problem solving, analytical and communication skills and a strong customer service orientation.
Equivalent combination of education and experience, that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrates curiosity and motivation to learn and explore new technologies across a broad range of disciplines.
Experience contributing to grant proposal development.
Experience working in a research lab.
Experience working with regulatory regimes such as DFARS, ITAR, and/or HIPAA.
Experience working in higher education.
