Remuneration: $103,866 base, plus 17% superannuation and leave loading

Details of the role

The Research Officer plays a key role in the Implementation to Impact team supporting research projects as part of a multidisciplinary team of researchers and professional staff.

The position will provide technical and research assistance to senior research staff and external collaborators in activities associated with various research projects, and will predominantly, but not exclusively, work on a project aimed at implementation of point of care testing in infectious disease, with a focus on applying and contributing expertise in implementation science. The Research Officer will also support research administration.

The role reports to a Post-doctoral Research Fellow and has no direct reports.

Some key skills required:

  • A university degree in health or related discipline, or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through a combination of education, training or experience.
  • Provision of practical and efficient research support to the research team and external stakeholders, facilitating the conduct of implementation science research activities with a focus on enhancing the quality of research outcome.
  • Support in the conceptualisation, design, and successful conduct of projects.
  • Perform quantitative/qualitative data analyses, including coding data according to implementation frameworks, as required by the research project.
  • Proactively prepare and contribute to the production of ethics submissions, technical reports, manuscripts for publication and tenders or grants for external funding.
  • Manage the technical aspects of databases, including coordinating and executing data cleaning, data management processes and ensuring research integrity in research databases.
  • Experience working with a range of computer systems and applications, including research applications such as NVIVO, SPSS, REDCap, referencing software (EndNote) and commonly utilised programs within Microsoft Office such as Excel, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Excellent time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to respond to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines by using judgement and initiative.
