About The Role

This is a Fixed Term role until March 2028 working full-time.

The Swansea oxysterol group are at the frontline of developing cutting edge mass spectrometry technique for sterol analysis and hold a US patent for sterol analysis. The group research is focused on cholesterol metabolism and its relation to human health and diseases. The lab is well equipped with the state-of-the-art instruments. We are looking for a highly motivated post-doctoral researcher, who would like to develop their scientific skills in biological mass spectrometry and biomarker discovery in neurodegenerative diseases and rare metabolic diseases. We collaborate widely with biologists, clinicians and industry. You will be part of the sterol biomarker discovery programme. The post holder will have the opportunity to liaise with an extensive network of collaborators, attend scientific conferences, and publish the results of their work in leading journals. Welsh Language Skills

The Welsh language level required for this role is Level 1 - A little. The role holder will be able to pronounce Welsh words, answer the phone in Welsh (good morning/afternoon) and use very basic everyday words and phrases (thank you, please etc.). Level 1 can be reached by completing a 1 hour course.
