Research Programmer Analyst 1 SPH-HMEP
Job Summary
The Research Programmer Analyst is responsible for supporting research initiatives through the design, development, and implementation of data driven solutions. This role works closely with investigators, faculty, and research staff to understand project goals and translate them into effective computational tools and analytical workflows. This position plays a critical role in bridging the gap between research needs and technical implementation.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities to include, but are not limited to:
- Assist in the development, testing, and maintenance of research-related software applications and scripts.
- Analyze research data sets and provide statistical and computational support for research studies.
- Develop and maintain data pipelines for cleaning, organizing, and storing research data.
- Document code, workflows, and data processes to ensure reproducibility and transparency. Support data visualization and reporting for research publications and presentations.
- Collaborate with faculty and research staff to understand project requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
Verbal communication, use of a computer, and the ability to recall events, negotiations, and decisions.
Relevant technical experience or training; AWS Certified Solutions, Microsoft Azure administration, or Database management are a plus.
Programming for data management and analysis, maintaining research databases, automating data pipelines, and developing software tools to support ongoing and future studies.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
KNOWLEDGE
Strong knowledge of database design, data integration and familiarity with cloud platforms/ cyber security standards. Knowledge of data visualization, statistical summaries, and technical documentation.
SKILLS
Problem solving, communication and organization skills.
ABILITIES
Ability to maintain confidentiality, expertise in project management methods.
Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days; Monday - Friday (Work outside of normal business hours may be required).
Pay Band: B8
