About the Role
The Research Support Assistant provides administrative support to Research Development and Support (RDS), the College of Human Sciences and Culture, and affiliated Institutes and Centres. Working under general direction, you will contribute to the delivery of research support services by coordinating key administrative processes, supporting researchers and professional staff, and helping maintain accurate systems, reporting, and communications.
In this position, you will also:
- Provide administrative and research support to researchers, teams, and committees
- Assist with research grant and tender application processes
- Maintain databases, systems, and web content
- Collate and share research information and funding opportunities
About You
You are an organised and detail-focused administrator with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn. You enjoy working in a supportive, team-based environment and are able to manage your time effectively across a range of tasks. You adapt well to changing priorities, approach challenges with a practical mindset, and take pride in producing accurate, high-quality work. You are confident using tools like Excel and are interested in building your skills in research administration and financial processes.
In addition, you will have:
- Strong administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to manage tasks and meet deadlines
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and confidence working with data
- Sound problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- An interest in research administration, with some exposure to grants, compliance, or finance processes (desirable)
