Research Teaching Specialist IV
Position Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Research Teaching Specialist IV in the Center for Immunity and Inflammation within the New Jersey Medical School (NJMS).
Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, Research Teaching Specialist IV conducts specialized research. May assist in the management/coordination of a small laboratory.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Assists in the establishment of performance standards, as well as in the selection of methodology and instrumentation.
- Assists in conducting a continuous program of research and development.
- Evaluates existing procedures and proposes modifications or changes in order to keep the methodology and procedures current.
- As assigned, performs various research and technical procedures.
- Assists with the instructing and training of students, fellows, technicians and laboratory assistants as required.
Minimum Education and Experience
- Master's Degree in a relevant science, or a Bachelor's degree in a relevant science plus one (1) year of related research experience.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Standing, sitting, walking, talking and hearing.
- No special vision requirements.
- Must be able to lift or exert force up to thirty (30) pounds.
- Lifting, when necessary, of file boxes and supplies
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Office environment.
- Moderate noise.
