"Researcher 5 - Soil Science"

This is a 2-year position and will conduct work on a sponsored project with Joshua Gamble (Research Agroecologist, USDA-ARS Plant Science Research Unit & Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Soil, Water and Climate) and will report to Tim Griffis (Professor in the Department of Soil, Water and Climate).

Job Responsibilities

• 20% designing and implementing trace gas flux field deployment
• 30% modelling of whole-farm greenhouse gas fluxes
• 20% analysis of trace gas flux data and model outputs
• 30% manuscript writing & publication

Required Qualifications

• PhD in soil science or a related discipline with one or more years of research training.
• Ability to conduct causal research related to soil trace gas emissions
• Proven experience with the DeNitrification and DeComposition or other similar process based crop and soil models

Preferred Qualifications

• Post-doctoral experience related to soil carbon science and accounting and a demonstrated ability to independently lead research projects and publish in peer-reviewed journals.
