Residential Coordinator
The University of Evansville (UE) is seeking a dedicated, student-centered, and solutions-oriented Residential Coordinator (RC) to join our Residence Life team starting June 1, 2026. This is a full-time, live-in professional position that plays a vital role in building a vibrant campus community and supporting student success. As an RC, you will serve as a mentor, administrator, and leader, ensuring our residence halls are safe, inclusive, and engaging environments for all students.
Key Responsibilities
The Residential Coordinator provides strategic oversight for a residential area of 100-293 students and manages daily building operations. Your main duties will include:
- Staff Supervision & Development: Directly supervise, train, and evaluate a team of Resident Assistants (RAs) and a Lead RA. Conduct regular one-on-ones, facilitate staff development, and provide ongoing performance feedback.
- Building Administration: Oversee the daily operations of a residence hall area, including building openings/closings, check-in/check-out processes, hall budgets, room changes, and monthly/semester reporting.
- Student Engagement & Programming: Provide leadership in delivering social and educational programming. Oversee hall and floor programming efforts focused on community development and cultural/service programs. Advise Hall Council/Committees and manage thematic housing concepts.
- Crisis Management & Safety: Provide 24-hour crisis intervention and basic emergency response. Participate in a shared on-call rotation. Serve as a Hearing Officer for student discipline meetings and coordinate building Health and Safety inspections.
- Collaborative Assignments: Coordinate central residence life functions such as RA training, RA selection, summer conferences, or departmental marketing and communications.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Partner with Facilities, Public Safety, Counseling, Disability Services, and Technology Services to meet student needs and maintain high building standards.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree.
- Experience: 1-2 years of professional experience in Residence Life or Student Affairs.
- Skills: Strong supervisory, organizational, and human relations abilities. Professional verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Attributes: Must be a self-starter, independent collaborator, and community builder with mature reasoning and a sensitivity to the human condition.
- License: A valid US driver's license.
- Physical: Ability to climb stairs, quickly evacuate a building, and handle loads up to 20 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Education: Master’s Degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, or a related field.
- Experience: 2-3 years of Residence Life experience, including direct experience with eRezLife and implementing a residential curriculum.
- Certifications: First Aid / CPR Certification.
